Builder/Landscape Leader

Northland Based, Permanent Position

Northscape are growing, and we’re now looking for new staff.

As one of the largest landscape contractors in Northland, we undertake Residential and Commercial projects of all sizes, and need team members that know their way around the industry.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position purpose Our Builder/Landscape Leaders work predominantly on the field, and are responsible for our site operations, sub-contractors and client satisfaction.  The role requires a good understanding of exterior building, hard and soft landscape practices, and is a role for people with direct experience in building, landscaping or related trades. 

  

Main tasks Core objectives include: 

  • Being a clear communicator with both staff, sub-contractors and clients
  • Leading from the front with your site team, in attitude and work ethic
  • Liaising with our Landscape Architect and Projects Manager for project planning and pre-commencement documentation
  • Maintaining OH&S standards and documentation
  • Receiving and actioning Site Instructions through our Landscape Architect and Project Manager
  • Creating materials lists and orders
  • Managing on-site work scheduling and logistics
  • Completing timesheet entry for all staff on site
  • Recording daily diary activity
  • Assisting with quantifying works completed for monthly payment claims
  • Undertaking building and landscape work

Other Duties Fulfil other related tasks as requested by management or other department personnel.

Experience
  • Experience in a similar role (required)
Skills & competencies
  • Staff Scheduling
  • Reading Plans
  • Client, Sub-Contractor and Staff Management
  • Carrying out site establishment and setting-out
  • Knowledge of Landscape Equipment
  • Knowledge of Paving, Concrete foundations, including formwork, reo placement, and concrete placing
  • Concrete finishing is an advantage (but not essential)
  • Landscape carpentry and exterior building tasks
  • Garden preparation and Planting of trees and shrubs
  • Lawn preparation and laying

Location And Hours:

Location: Northland, New Zealand

Hours:  7.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday (typical hours)

Salary:

Rate: $70K + based on experience and attitude
